99 Media Group, Inc. is a full service production company with offices in Los Angeles, New York and Miami.  The company was founded by Meryl Gitter Michon and Robyn Symon, two award-winning veterans of the television and documentary film industries.

99 Media Group specializes in producing docu-series, documentary films, factual programming and multi-platform programming for television and the internet.

Symon and Michon have produced series and documentaries for the major networks and cable channels including ABC, NBC, PBS, FOX, Discovery, A&E, TLC, CNN, Court TV, Lifetime, Biography Channel, MTV, Nickelodeon, MSNBC and National Geographic,  as well as theatrically released feature documentary films.

Emmy Award-winning entertainment journalist and host Nancy O’Dell has covered many stories of sexual misconduct among the Hollywood elite for more than 20 years.  In the past those stories came and went with little impact, but times have changed as new accusations of sexual abuse and misconduct have flooded the headlines and touched some of the biggest names in the industry.  From the executive suites to the studio floors we’ve watched, all too frequently, the downfall of respected and beloved public figures. Who We Are

Robyn Symon

Robyn Symon is a two-time Emmy award-winning writer/producer specializing in documentaries and television TV series. Symon was a Senior Producer at PBS based in Miami where she wrote and produced the series “Florida!” for PBS and The Travel Channel.  A former TV news reporter and Special Projects producer for NBC, CBS and Fox News, Symon wrote and produced numerous pledge specials and the national PBS documentary series “Voices of Vision,” hosted by NPR’s Scott Simon focusing on the work of non-profit organizations around the world. She also wrote and produced the series “Health & Family” and docu-specials on AIDS for the Discovery Health Network and CTV in Canada.

In 2007, Symon debuted in the indie arena, producing, directing and editing the feature documentary “Transformation: The Life & Legacy of Werner Erhard”  about the controversial pioneer of the self- help industry and founder of est which was acquired for by Screen Media Films. Her film “Behind the Blue Veil” about the war on terror in the Sahara was acquired by Journeyman Pictures and her documentary “Uncle Gloria: One Helluva Ride!” recently premiered at Outfest in LA and won the Audience Award at the Miami MIFO Film Festival.

Her film “Behind the Blue Veil,” about the war on terror in the Sahara, was acquired by Journeyman Pictures, and her recent documentary film “Do No Harm” is currently on an International Film Tour and will premiere on PBS stations nationwide in the fall. She has produced several one hour celebrity specials for the Reelz Channel including the upcoming “Fatal Addiction: Hollywood’s Secret Epidemic” about the opioid crisis in Hollywood.

Symon has been honored with numerous national awards including two Emmys for writing and producing short documentaries, two national NABJ and two Telly awards.

Meryl Gitter Michon

Meryl Gitter Michon is an award-winning television producer, director, writer and showrunner who has created documentaries, series and specials for network and cable television. Most recently, Meryl worked on the ABC Docuseries “1969,” ABC’s “The Year: 2018,” hosted by Robin Roberts, and the FOX Special, “O.J. Simpson: The Lost Confession?” She also served as an Executive Producer and Show Creator on two hour-long specials, “Sex. Scandals. Crime.” and “Fatal Addiction: Hollywood’s Secret Epidemic,” along with the series “Nancy O’Dell Remembers” for the Reelz Network.

Meryl began her career at ABC News, working on the show “20/20” and remained at the network for almost a decade. She then helped launch a number of shows including the critically acclaimed “Nick News with Linda Ellerbee” and “Access Hollywood.” From there, Meryl went on to produce, direct and write numerous documentaries and specials for the networks and cable channels including dozens of Biographies for A&E and Intimate Portraits for Lifetime profiling the lives of Caroline Kennedy, Phil Spector, Russell Crowe, Pat Benatar, Kim Jong Il, Sarah Palin and Cindy Crawford, to name a few. Meryl also worked on a special series for CNN called People Profiles where she had the great fortune of documenting the extraordinary and inspirational lives of Christopher Reeve and Jim Henson. In addition, she has produced shows for Discovery, TLC, Court TV, The History Channel, National Geographic, Fox and MTV.

Meryl’s work has received numerous awards including the Emmy, Dupont and Peabody.

Robyn and Meryl’s partnership began in the first grade at P.S.99 in Brooklyn where they were best friends until they both moved away at the age of 12 in what seemed like an evil plot by their parents!  Who knew that when they reconnected as adults, they’d quickly come to realize that the career paths they followed were incredibly similar. A business partnership was only natural and by combining Meryl and Robyn’s vast collective talents, a creative team like no other was born.
